    There are 3 possible scenarios when you make a mistake:
    1. Not realize you made a mistake and ignore it.
    2. Be hard headed or stubborn and not admit you were wrong.
    3. Take accountability and course correct as quickly as possible.

    The first two option you are likely to make the mistake worse and dig your whole deeper. It is best to get back on the right track as quickly as possible. The longer you stay off track the harder it will be to get back on.

    What ever you do do not be a victim. Do not play helpless. Take ownership and responsibility. This is the only way to gain your power and control over the situation.

    As soon as a thought comes into your mind the ego tries to claim it. Instead of the best idea winning we want our idea to win. People in companies like to do things their way because they came up with it. New ideas are dismissed even though they might be better. They are dismissed because things are done the way they have always been done.

    The idea of meritocracy is letting the best ideas win out. Even if the idea is not yours you will embrace it because fundamentally it is a better idea. Great ideas get the greatest results. When you lose the attachment of yours vs someone else’s you can look at the ideas without biased.
