It’s not going to happen overnight so stop stressing yourself out. Enjoy the moments and celebrate the small victories. Break down the huge goal in manageable baby steps. Set deadlines for these smaller baby sets by estimating how much time it is going to take to accomplish each task. The deadline is there to help motivate you to accomplish things and stay on task. It is there to push you and prevent procrastination. The act of setting a deadline tells you that this is important for you to accomplish. Deadlines are your friend.

Without a deadline there is no timeframe. You will accomplish something, “Whenever you have time or when you feel inspired.” This day will never come and you will always be waiting. A deadline will force you to make progress and not procrastinate.

People only do things out of necessity. Until you absolutely have to get something done you will probably find an excuse or a reason to procrastinate. One habit of successful people is to raise their necessity.

What do you need? What is a must for you?

To get things done you have to turn you should’s into musts. The earlier you realize that you can’t avoid or procrastinate something the sooner you will get it done. The greater the necessity the greater the effort you will put into it and the more value people will get out of it.

If you are like me then you procrastinate until the last minute to do things. You do not do things until they are absolutely necessary. This is not good for side projects or things that have no timeline to get done. There are a bunch of things you should do but not everyone does the shoulds. If you want to have a certain outcome there are things you must do. This is where you must raise the importance of things to get them done.

There are necessities in everyone’s life. Being a human you must breathe in oxygen, you must eat food, you must sleep. There are many things we must do and these things come automatic because they are musts. If there are things not getting done its because they don’t need to get done.

    noiz viol8ion blog #385 – Stop Waiting

Stop waiting for inspiration. Stop waiting for the right time. Stop waiting for the planets to align. Stop waiting until you learn everything. Stop waiting for the right people. Stop waiting until you believe in yourself. Stop waiting for confidence. Stop waiting until there is no risk. Stop waiting because it turns into a habit and time continues to pass.

Waiting means you are taking no action. You are not closing in on what you want. Waiting is a form of procrastination and a waste of time. Use all your time wisely.

Stop waiting and start believing. Know that you can take action and make progress. Stop waiting and start living your dreams. Stop waiting until your next break and make your next break.

    Stop waiting and just start!

Putting a date on the calendar gives you a target to shoot for.

If you are a procrastinator like me then if something isn’t due then it will not get done. This is due to Parkinson’s Law which states that work expands so as to fill the time available for its completion. People usually take all the time that they are given.

To solve this figure out what needs to be done, estimate how long it is going to take and set a deadline that you can attain.
