  • Blog #111 – The World is Constant but You Are Not

The external world is what it is. The sun rises every morning and sets every night. The season are always the same. Summer is after Spring and before Fall which is followed by winter. There are 24 hours in a day, 7 days a week and 365 days in a year. This has been constant for as far back as humans have existed. Things are what they are and there is nothing you can do to change things or change people.

The only thing we can change is our own perception of how we see things. We can change the meaning we give things. We can change our attitude. We can change how we use our body. We can change what we focus on. Change any of these things and you will get different results out of life. Your outcomes will improve if you improve.

    The Serenity Prayer

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,

Courage to change the things I can,

And wisdom to know the difference.

  • Blog #82 – CHANGE for the BETTER

Why even start? Before you even start you must see the potential benefit. That if you do “X” then “Y” will happen. There must not be any doubt. The more likely you see great potential. The more likely you will take massive action to get it. The belief in this potential is directly correlated to how much action you will take. This is a positive feedback loop.

  • Blog #54 – How to Change it Up

Too much of anything is not good for you. Not enough of something is bad for you.

We are all creatures of habit. We do the things that we do and stick to it. We wake up and goto work at the same time. We take the same route to work. We do the same things at work and get off at the same time. We come home the same way and watch the same shows. We will eat the same thing at the same restaurants.

When we do this it saves us from having to think. We made a decision previously for what the best thing to do is. Very Rarely do we go back and question these decisions unless we are forced to.

Staying in the same patterns will always get you the same results. If you are perfectly content then keep doing what you are doing. If you are not then it is time to change it up. Start small by changing your alarm clock by a minute or two. Change what side of you mouth you start brushing your teeth.

  • Blog #38 – The Components of Change

Imagine being at the top of the Grand Canyon. Looking out and see the impressiveness of the Grand Canyon. The depth of the canyon is one of the largest in the world. The Grand Canyon did not appear out of no where.

The Colorado River carves through the middle of the grand canyon. The water has been carving the rocks deeper for the last 6 million years. Slowly over time the water relentlessly wears down the stones. Eroding the rock to create one of the most impressive wonders in the world.

To create change you must be like water flowing through the Grand Canyon. You must keep wearing down the resistance. The resistance is the thing that keeps you from doing what you should be doing. You should be reminding yourself of your priorities and goals. Staying focused on what is important. There are so many things you could focus on and most often we focus on what is wrong or worry about things we can not control. You have the power and are the one in control. Do not be the stone be the water. Be willing to change and adapt. Take the path of least resistance. If it is painful then you are not doing it right. Do what is right for you and stop fighting yourself.

Accept that things are going to take time. Know how much time those things are going to take and pay your time. If you want to get better you have to plan to get better. You have to practice and repeat the same thing over and over again. Over time you will be better than you are now.

What do you want to get better?

What change do you want to happen?
