When you focus on the problem you will find the problem. You may even find more than one problem and the problem may get bigger and more complex. There will become different aspects of the problem and some of these aspects will be intimidating. If you keep focusing on the problem then you may get so scared of the problem that there is no solution. The problem becomes bigger because you keep feeding it and giving it power. You start to identify with the problem and carry it around with you. The problem becomes a distraction for what you should actually be doing. The problem becomes an excuse for not doing what you should be doing. The problem is a way out because the solution is too hard. When you shift to focusing on solutions then your problems get smaller and get solved.
