I made a commitment to myself that I will value progress over perfection. I did this because for a long time I valued perfection and noticed I was not going anywhere. I was not happy because ultimately nothing was perfect especially me. When the standard is is unattainable then you will fail every time. When the standard is to get just a little bit better then it is easier to win.

noiz viol8ion blog #429 – Your Commitments
Go down your list of commitments (comment your top one below).
Commit to being a good person. Commit to being happy. Commit to being a good son or daughter. Commit to having better relationships. Commit to your job and craft. Commit to living a healthy lifestyle. Commit to being the best you.
Something amazing happens when a commitment is made. It cuts off any other possibility. You no longer give yourself the option of doing the opposite. It may not be easy but you know what they ultimate goal is. Of course mistakes will be made but how fast will you re-commit yourself.

noiz viol8ion blog #428 – Possessions Own You
The more you own, the more you have to take care of. Keep life simple by only owning what you need. As you get older things start accumulating and unless you get rid of the old there will be no room for the new.

noiz viol8ion blog #425 – Your Identity
We are constantly building our identity. We look at things and say “I” like that. We do things and say “I” did that. We say things and say “I” said that.
It’s is a never ending journey finding out who “I” is.
This is why we join groups because they have the same beliefs that “I” do.
This is why we buy certain brands over other because “I” like it better.
“I” is evolving and is not static. Keep finding your self while not restring yourself to an old “I”.

noiz viol8ion blog #424 – Guilty by Association
What and who do you associate yourself with?
We can gain or lose credibility by who and what we are associated with. This is why we write resumes. People want to know who you have worked with. They want to be able to call your list of references. If your references are impressive then you will be too. This is true to other way too. This is happening in politics where people say if you voted for certain person then they don’t even want to talk to you. They don’t want to be associated.

noiz viol8ion blog #423 – What Do You Think?
A simple question to ask is, “What do you think?”
If you ask someone this question it doubles your perspective. Not only do you have your own but now you have someone else’s. Everyone has different life experiences so you will get unique perspective.
You want to identify the most valuable ideas not just verify your own ideas.

noiz viol8ion blog #422 – Single Focus
There are so many distractions in the world. Sometimes I feel like I jump from one distraction to the other. I loose track of my most important things and end up being distracted on less important things. When I notice this I take a pause in my life and realize what is important again. As soon as I find what is important then I find the next distraction too. I am at a cross road between my focus and distraction. It is a daily decision to pick the focus.
