    noiz viol8ion blog #413 – The Fear

I have fun and exciting things that I want to do with my life. I dream big dreams that give me so much excitement but they also give me fear. The fear of failure. The fear of not being good enough. The fear of lack. The fear of being judged. The fear of missing out. I have all these fears but the biggest fear I have is not living up to my full potential. This is what drives me and motivates me to be the best I can and to take risks. I know these fears have paralyzed me before but now they motivate me.

Do you notice all the transitions in your life?

How about waking up from being asleep, coming home from work, transitioning from exhale to inhale. There are many transitions in life and often we carry over things that should not be carried over.

When you come home from work, leave work at the door. Let it all go and start over with the new activity. Check in with yourself and notice what you are carrying around.

noiz viol8ion blog #409 – Out of My Mind

Sometimes I need to get out of my mind.

I love listening to inspirational speakers and interview. I like to hear their struggles and how they managed to get past them. I want to apply what they have done in their lives to my own life.

The problem is that listening to them does not change my life. I have different problems. I am a different person with different circumstances. I have to find the parallels and intersections between their lives and my own.

I have the power to change anything in my life. I have the power to change my world. In changing my world I will change others as well.

noiz viol8ion blog #408 – The Critical You

When you are uncomfortable with yourself everything you do is uncomfortable. When I am uncomfortable I begin to question everything. I criticize how much money I make. I criticize the relationships I have with friends and family. I criticize how happy I am everyday. I criticize my body and how healthy I am, my diet, my musical talent, my life, my relaxation, my cooking, my attire, and everything else I can think of.

I can cause undue amounts of stress in my life because I am not confident in who I am and what I am doing. I become ungrateful for what I have in my life. I begin to go inward and not take risks. I get in my head. I become my own worst enemy.

    noiz viol8ion blog #407 – Your Standards

Do you set a high bar or keep it low?

It’s easy to lower the bar once you have failed multiple times. Once you lower the bar once you lower it again and then you begin accepting things below your standards. Your life is deteriorating and you don’t know why. You are scared to take risks and go into conservation mode. You know your not happy but don’t know what to do. You dug yourself into a whole and don’t know how to get out.

It is up to you to change your lifestyle. Change your goals. Change your actions. Raise your standards. There is nothing in your way besides yourself.

    noiz viol8ion blog #406 – Raise Up

There is no happiness in stagnation.

I often hear, “Be happy with what you got! There are a lot of people who have it worse than you.” While this is true, this is not the best way to make your self happy.

The only person you should compare yourself to is yourself. Comparing yourself to other people always leads to unhappiness because as soon as you compare to the people with less than you you jump to people with more than you and become unhappy again. Or even worse you surround yourself with people worse than you to make yourself feel better. Instead look at yourself and do everything you can to be better than you were yesterday. Slowly make progress in the direction you want to go.

God helps those who helps themselves so raise up and help yourself.

    noiz viol8ion blog #405 – What’s Acceptable?

Look around in your life and wonder why you have the things in your life that you do. Why are you in the house you live in? Why are you in a relationship with the person you are? Why are you doing the job you are? Why are you getting paid what you are?

These things are in your life because you get what you accept. Whether consciously or unconsciously you have accepted everything you got. If you are not happy with what you got then you only have yourself to blame. You get what you deserve.

    noiz viol8ion blog #404 – Mental Challenge

Writing and producing music is a mental challenge. The blank DAW (digital audio workstation) is exciting and intimidating at the same time. Infinite ideas flow through my mind. Internal dialogue is all questions. Where do I even start?

After I get started it opens doors to completely different universes. Does this work or should I go back?

Doubt sets in if you sit for too long that is why its best to keep on moving. Don’t think and just go with your instincts.

noiz viol8ion blog #403 – Daring Greatly by Brene Brown

This a a great book that talks about the power of vulnerability. There is no shame in vulnerability. Putting yourself out there even though you have failed before is a great skill to cultivate. In baseball it is like stepping up to the plate to a pitcher who has been striking you out all day.

You need to be completely honest with yourself and everyone else. Honest about your strengths and your weaknesses.

Put your true self out there no matter what happens.
Be open to criticism and feedback of others.
Be so confident in your own skin that others opinions of you have no effect on you as a person.

Everyone is going through there own battles but you being open about yours makes it easier for other people.
