    The magic of keeping a journal is the ability to go back in the past. You get to remember where you were came from. You get to check your thoughts from 3, 5, 10 and 20 years later. I look back at things I’ve written and am surprised about great they are or how wrong I was. I see how I’ve accomplished goals and still working on others.

    It reminds me that I keep growing and I stay the same. It reminds me to be grateful during good times and resilient during rough times. It reminds me that there is always something to learn

    Journaling brings more awareness to situations when I read about them later. It brings me back to where I was in life and I can look at it where I am now. I gain new perspective and to push through any doubts or fears.

    There is a balance focusing on what you don’t have. Focusing on what you don’t have can motivate you to figure out how to go out and get it. When you want something it is up to you to make it happen.

    On the other side when you focus on what you don’t have it can make you feel down. When you lack something then there are reasons you lack it. This can make you feel insufficient.

    When you focus on what you have it can make you feel grateful. To look back at how far you’ve come. Look back on the memories you’ve had, the accomplishments you’ve achieved, look at the treasures you’ve collected.

    Look back at everything that has gone wrong in your life. Most things seemed like a big wound then but now has healed. If something has upset you and you think about 5 years in the future will it still be upsetting you you. If not then get over it now. There is no point of holding on to pain when it does not serve you.

    When you think about your life and where you are going there are two people you can become. You can become the worst version of yourself or the best version of yourself. You can let your bad habits take over your life or you can embrace the good things about you. We are all in transition. Everyday we are changing physically, emotionally, financially and spiritually. In our body cells are dying and being regenerated. Thoughts are flowing through your mind. Money is flowing in and out of your bank account. When you become aware of all the inputs and outputs you have more control over them. You can replace the bad with the good and over time this compounds into something incredibly good or bad. The goal is to consciously be moving towards the best you that you can become.

The people who gave their life for the Constitution of the United States of America. Our fallen heroes were willing to give everything they had so that people could live free and without fear of being oppressed. They believed that all men are created equal and each person should have a voice in their government. Today is a day not about us but about these special angels. We must look back and reflect about how far we have come as a nation. We must remember that we are the United States of America. Together we are strong and divided we will fall. Happy Memorial Day!

    People like to talk.

    And people will talk about you. It might be behind your back or to your face.

    Some people are not your friends and are actively trying to take you down. It makes people feel bigger and better if they destroy you. Everyone wants the biggest building but some people do it buy tearing down all the buildings around them.

    People will grandstand and look down on on you to make themselves feel superior.

    Not everyone has your best interest in mind. They are trying to push their own agenda instead of lifting up yours.

    In all these cases it is not only ok to fight back but it is your moral duty to stand up for what you believe in. You must hold your ground and hit back twice as hard. Do not let other people take advantage of you. Do not tolerate anything less than you deserve.

    “Do what makes you happy!” is the best and worst advice of all time. The best part of this advice is the first word, DO. You should be doing a lot more than what makes you happy.

    You should DO things. Take action and make things happen. Keep doing things. Do things that make you healthy, do things you love, do things to make you wealthy, do things to keep you safe, do things to make other people happy. Do new things. Doing is a key that will unlock many doors in your life. Doing will build up skills for your resume.

    The more you do the freer you are because you are not limited. The more you do the more you expand and grow. The closer you will be to reach your goals. You will set an example and be a leader. Other people can follow a doer. You will other people permission to follow their dreams.

    The Democrats vs The Republicans.

    The battle goes back to before the USA was even formed and is part of the reason the USA was formed. The Boston Tea Party was about paying taxes without getting to vote.

    People want a voice and to be heard. People want to put other people in power to do what is right or what they think is right.

    It is always we are the good guys and they are the bad guys. In reality both sides have good guys and both sides have bad guys. When you do not kick out the bad guys then they whole system becomes corrupt. People can lose their way when it becomes about money, power and self interest. This is why we elect people to keep our own hands clean and our politicians do the dirty work.

    It all comes down to making deals. Who can make the best deals? When neither side is willing to compromise then look out for war.
