Remember who your day 1’s are.

You’re gonna make it big and a lot of people are going to come into your life. People are going to want things from you. People are going to tell you to change. People are going to put you down.

Your day 1’s will be there on your first day and your last day. They have nothing but love and support for you. They want you to succeed and they will help you reach your goals. They won’t want anything in return but are grateful for everything you do for them.

Take care of your day 1’s because your wouldn’t be where you are without them.

Life does not go as expect. There are always detours and challenges that get in the way of goals. Ray Dalio’s book “Principles”, is correct in that most of these challenges happen over and over in one’s lifetime and definitely throughout human history. If you develop principles for dealing with challenges then you will be able to get over them much quicker and with less pain.

You can develop your own principles or adopt other people’s who may have been through a challenge you are going through currently. One of Ray’s biggest principles is Pain + Reflection = Progress. When you fail it causes pain and then you reflect on this pain and wonder how you can do things different then try again.

Imagine eating a delicious piece of cake.

The first thing that happens is all the icing and sugary goodness pleases your brain.

The second thing that happens is the pleasure is done and you crash.

Take into account first and second order consequences when you make your decisions.

    noiz viol8ion blog #813 – Trends

Some days are up and some are down. There is no telling what is going to be a good day vs a bad day. Sometimes this extends to a good or bad week, month or even year. Momentum is picked up because we think each second, minute, day, month, or year is going to be like the last.

Zoom out and look at these trends in your life. It is easy to tell with money. Do you have more or less than last year, 5 years, 10 years?

What about your happiness? Relationships? Your health?

If any of these are trending in the wrong direction then do everything you can to change it. Stack a few good days together and then stack some good weeks together. Make the bad days out of the ordinary and make the good ones extraordinary.

noiz viol8ion blog #812 – Pain and Suffering

Pain and suffering is normal and natural. Everyone in their life will go through experiences that will cause pain and suffering.

The problem is unnecessary pain and suffering. Too many times I subconsciously cause myself pain. Maybe I have negative self talk or do not believe in myself which can have a negative ripple effect in my life.

The mind can play tricks on you if you are not standing guard. The mind will tell you lies, point out the negative, tell you what’s wrong, tell you that you can’t and to give up.

Walking around in life unconscious you will fall for traps which will lead to pain and suffering.

noiz viol8ion blog #811 – Good vs Great Life

When living life it is easy to get caught up planning for the worst. It’s better to take the safe route. Go with the safe job. Do not rock the boat because people will get upset. Avoid conflict and not disturb the status quo. Just keep doing what I have been doing because things are good.

People will sacrifice their happiness for security. Instead of thriving and living their dreams they will settle for good enough.

Good is the enemy of Great

    Jim Collins

When we get good sometimes that is good enough. There is another level called GREAT. When we get great it fills the the gap that something is missing. You know when you find great because you stop looking for anything else.

A good life will have regrets and a great life will have none.

noiz viol8ion blog #810 – Two Things A Coach Needs To Balance

There is a push/pull, give/take a coach must employ to be effective. To do this,

The two things a coach needs to balance is:
    1. Force
    2. Empathy

Coaching is about getting all the potential you can out of someone. It is about the player reaching new levels they never thought was possible.

To coach and influence you yourself must have full belief that what you are asking/telling someone to do is doable. When someone has this unshakeable belief then FORCE is applied. This force can be in the form of practice or action that needs to be taken to get the desired result.

In the moment there are times to push it and times to rest. There are times to double down and there are times to change it up. There are times of strong confidence and there are times of doubt. Everyone has their strength’s and weakness’s. A good coach uses EMPATHY to know what tool to use and when.

Having a coach can be a faster way to reach your goals. Someone who has traveled the path you are trying to go down.

    noiz viol8ion blog #809 – My POV

There are many things in my life I thought I wanted but later I am grateful for not getting them.

I think I know what’s best for me but I truly do not.

I think I know what’s best for other people but I truly do not.

The only thing I know is my own life and what I have gone through. Life makes sense when I look back but life only moves foreword.

I know the actions I take, the thoughts I think, the emotions I feel and my experience of the world around me.

I cannot speak to other people’s experience and what they should or should not do. I can relate to their problems and put myself in their situation and speak from that perspective. I know everyone is different and will come to different conclusions and take different actions.

The same goes for when I ask other people advice. They are speaking from their experiences and give advice from their point of view and not mine.

    noiz viol8ion blog #808 – Fight Back

When people attack fight back. Do not let your character be tarnished. Do not let your values be put into question. Fight for what you believe in. Be a winner and not a loser. Even if you lose a battle do everything you can to win the war. See the bigger picture and know the ultimate goal. Do not settle for equal retaliation. When someone hits then you hit back twice as hard.

noiz viol8ion blog #807 – Little Things Make A Big Difference

Get the little things right and you can make big changes. Little and simple things can seem insignificant, overlooked and have their importance downplayed.

Since these small things are so small they are low hanging fruit to change your life.

Simple things like not hitting the snooze, waking up a few min earlier, going to bed on time, spend 5 min meditating, saying “Thank you!”, calling your parents, saying “I love you!”, walk for 30 min a day, look at people in the eye when talking, use people’s names, ask questions, listen to people.

These little things can compound into big results.
