    noiz viol8ion blog #825 – Happy Independence Day

    I was born a citizen of the United States. I was born in a free country. I did nothing to earn this. I have to look back at history to remind myself what the generations before me did so I can live like I am today.

    I have to remind myself of the risks that the first Americans took for a better life. To leave behind everything they’ve ever known.

    I have to study the wars that were fought. I study the American Revolution, the Civil War, the Texas Revolution, World War I and II.

    I have not have had to make the sacrifices that every generation before me has made. Because of this it is easy for me to take for granted.

    We were given a gift and it is our job to keep making things better for the next generation. We have to remember how far we’ve come and look to where we want to go.

    Today we celebrate our Independence! Tomorrow we fight to keep it!

    Today is memorial day and today we remember. We remember all the people who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our country. The people who gave their life for the Constitution of the United States of America. Our fallen heroes were willing to give everything they had so that people could live free and without fear of being oppressed. They believed that all men are created equal and each person should have a voice in their government. Today is a day not about us but about these special angels. We must look back and reflect about how far we have come as a nation. We must remember that we are the United States of America. Together we are strong and divided we will fall. Happy Memorial Day!

    The Democrats vs The Republicans.

    The battle goes back to before the USA was even formed and is part of the reason the USA was formed. The Boston Tea Party was about paying taxes without getting to vote.

    People want a voice and to be heard. People want to put other people in power to do what is right or what they think is right.

    It is always we are the good guys and they are the bad guys. In reality both sides have good guys and both sides have bad guys. When you do not kick out the bad guys then they whole system becomes corrupt. People can lose their way when it becomes about money, power and self interest. This is why we elect people to keep our own hands clean and our politicians do the dirty work.

    It all comes down to making deals. Who can make the best deals? When neither side is willing to compromise then look out for war.

    Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.

    Who would of thought these seemingly simple ideas would have such a profound affect on an entire country and the world. The USA is a country where these are ideas are held to the highest standard.

    Life, looking back in history and still today some people’s lives are not equal. Not long ago a whole group of people were killed based off their beliefs, the Holocausts. And even today countries have slave labor. America is a melting pot of all people and all people are welcome.

    Liberty, I see Liberty as freedom. People have the choice to believe what they want. They have the choice to pursue any career they want to. The government or any other power is not forcing you to believe something, say something or be someone you do not want to be.

    The pursuit of happiness is the best idea because it means that everyones uniqueness can stand out. No matter what it is that makes you happy this country gives you the opportunity to make your dream become a reality. The biggest challenge you face is yourself not a government.

    What does America mean to you?

    To me this is the land of the free and home of the brave. The culture is a melting pot of everyone around the world. We’re united by being Americans and the set of values that “…all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

    No other place in the world is as accepting and free as we are today. On this beautiful day we celebrate and remember all the men and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for the freedoms we have. We are one nation under god, we are indivisible and we liberty and justice for all.

    Tomorrow is a day of celebration. Tomorrow is a day to remember the rallying cry for the origin of our county, “That all men are created equal”. We live in the most diverse place in the world with people from all over coming together. It started as a dream, an experiment, that turned into a giant success. We live in a country where the ghosts of hero’s are always looking down on us and giving us wisdom. From people like George Washington who set a precedent of a peaceful transition of power. To the dream of Martin Luther King where people are judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin. Tomorrow is a day to remember these ideals and see the progress that we’ve made as a country.

    This is the land of opportunity.

    If you have a dream then this is the place you want to be. In no other place do you have a chance to control your own destiny as much as you do here in America.

    You have all of these rights and privileges because there were tons of people who fought for you to have them.

    The people who disrupt the status quo will be met with resistance.

  • Blog #42 – The Gift of Freedom

    Often in life we feel restricted or tied down. In our jobs, houses, relationships, contracts and finances. There is an obligation that we must meet. Because we are putting resources to that obligation the thing that we want to do is not available to us.

    “If it wasn’t for _______ I would be doing _________!”

    This is what we tell ourselves. We think that something has got us trapped or holding us back. The only thing holding you back is this attitude!

    Embrace the language of freedom. Know that you are as free as the bird. You are the pilot of your life and you can go wherever you want to. You do not have to go into a job you hate. You chose to go into a job you hate. You do not have to stay in a bad relationship. You chose to stay in a bad relationship. If you don’t do something because you can’t afford it then how can you afford it?

    If you are lucky enough to be born in the USA then we can make all these choices ourselves. We are not told our career path. We are not told who we are going to marry. We do not have to give away all our money. We are not forced to live somewhere. We are free to make our own choices on our pursuit of happiness.
