It takes a lot of courage to pick a side on an issue. Sometimes it all boils down to people beliefs. There might not be facts to support one side or the other. Even if there are facts people will skew them to support their side. The issue becomes an emotional debate. It’s always great to see people fight for what they believe.
It takes a lot more courage for someone to build bridges between the two sides. It is easy to mutually go your separate ways and demonize the other side. It is hard to find common ground and a solution.
The bridge is a solution that neither side will be completely happy and neither side will be completely mad. The time, discussion, knowledge and understanding it takes to build bridges is hard work.
