You do things because they are important to you. You try so hard because you want to look good in front of other people. You want to be seen as a professional and you don’t want to make mistakes because it will make you look bad. This is all in your head. Everyone else does not give a shit about whether you succeed. Unless you tie your missions together other people will not care if you fail or not. Unless they buy into your success as their success then they could care less about what you are doing. It may feel like everyone is judging you but really no one cares. They have their own life going on.

There are many ways to do something but the only way to get ahead is to do more than everyone else. You must do what everyone else doesn’t want to do. You must volunteer for extra curriculars and take on extra tasks, read that extra book, post one more time and write the extra blog. Learn more and you will become more. You will provide more value and eventually get paid more.

It doesn’t matter what you do. It matters how you do it. You could be a janitor or you could be a CEO of a company and it tells you nothing about a persons happiness. If you can be great and have fun doing things you don’t want to do then you will be amazing at doing something you do want to do.
Have a mindset that whatever task is in your way you are going to crush it and enjoy doing it. You can have fun doing something you hate or you can hate doing something you love. It all depends what you are focusing on. What you focus on you will feel.

We all need help but it is often hard to ask for help. Often the way to start asking is by complimenting the other person. This makes sure they are in more of a positive state and more likely to say yes. The next thing is to make sure they know how much it means to you. The person will want to know what they are going to get out of it so let them know. Let them know that the favor will not be for nothing. Tell them the larger impact that this one thing will do. If there is hesitancy on their part do everything you can to know down their objections with positives. Be strong and confident in your ask.

The best way to lead is by example. If you want someone to do something you must be willing to do it first. Truly know what you are asking someone to do by experiencing it yourself. Feel the pain for yourself first. When you know something you can talk intelligibly about it and lead. You will be able to communicate more precisely on the exact outcome you want. You must be able to speak the language of the task. At least know the basics. 20% of your efforts will give you 80% of your understanding on the subject. If you need more understanding then hire an expert.

Saying something in one part of the world can mean something completely different in another part of the world. The first thing you must communicate is an intent. What is the outcome you want? If you call your Mom what is the intent you want to come across the call. Communication will get you message across with minimal confusion.

To get things done you have to turn you should’s into musts. The earlier you realize that you can’t avoid or procrastinate something the sooner you will get it done. The greater the necessity the greater the effort you will put into it and the more value people will get out of it.

Do not keep beating yourself up. It is not doing anything besides making you depressed. If you want to be something to someone then you must be that to yourself first. To love someone you must love yourself first. To move someone you have to move yourself fist. To inspire someone you have to inspire yourself first.
Be the leader by setting the example. Experiment on yourself and see what works and what doesn’t work. When you are experimenting just know that you are experimenting. If something doesn’t work then move on to the next thing. Do not attack your character. Do not call yourself names.
We are all human and are not perfect so stop expecting yourself to be. Collect yourself and get ready for the next opportunity. Try your best and learn from it. Keep getting better. Keep learning. Keep growing. Keep being kind to yourself.

Take the time to get it right. Mistakes are costly in time and money. Having to pay the price to go back and fix mistakes is a great learning experience. Now you know where you were wrong and the next time you are likely to not make the same mistake. People love it when you make mistakes. There is a whole TV show “America’s Funniest Home Videos” where people laugh at other people’s failure. If you are wrong then they have a scapegoat and somewhere to place the blame. Most people don’t want to put themselves out there and take on the responsibility. They do not want the chance to be wrong.
If you are confident in yourself and the work you do then show it off. Accept the challenge and the responsibility. You know what you are talking about. Show your work and explain why each decision was made. Just get it right the first time or be prepared to learn.

The Universe is on its own time. It does not care about when you want something done. This is why you have to be patient and by patient I don’t mean sitting around doing nothing. I mean working your butt off and keep working your butt off even if nothing happens immediately. You are patient enough not to give up. To know that things take time and if you take your time then things will come when. If you build slowly then you are building a solid foundation. Gary Vee talks about a term Macro Patience and Micro Speed. Overall the patience will allow you to make the correct long term decisions because you are not looking for the quick lottery ticket. You are looking to build something tat is going to last forever. Something that will provide tremendous value to people over and over again.
