In the book Mindset: The New Psychology of Success by Carol Dweck, she talks about people having two different types of mindsets.
- The Fixed Mindset
- The Growth Mindset
The fixed mindset is when people put a label on themselves. They think they are born good or bad at something. They think there are either smart or dumb at things. They think they are fat or skinny. These people are more anxious and think people are judging them.
The growth mindset people are more at ease because they are becoming something. They may not be as good as they want to be but know they can work on their skills. They are not stuck because they are always growing. They have the power to increase their competency. They take responsibility on themselves to grow
