Know what you know and know what you don’t know. You don’t need to know every bit of information to make a decision or take action. If you can’t make a decision then learn the minimum amount needed.

    Research, Learn, Ask, Search

Being comfortable is a luxury rarely achieved. Learn how to make a decision without being comfortable.

Not making a decision is worse than making no decision. A wrong decision is better than no decision. Make a decision, see what happens and then adapt.

    noiz viol8ion blog #375 – First Instincts

Everyone has an initial gut reaction. After this feeling has passed comes in the second guessing and doubt. The analytical mind starts to think of other options and different scenarios. The longer it takes to make a decision the harder it becomes because so much noise is entering your mind and clouding your initial thoughts. Sometimes this can be good to use this part of the mind but other times it’s like scrolling through Netflix and trying to find something to watch. We doubt and second guess ourselves when we should trust ourselves and follow our instincts. Sure we will be wrong but making quick decisions is a skill and you will be able to recover quickly.

noiz viol8ion blog #351 – Decisions and Conditions

Stuff happens but what do you do about it. How do you react to the conditions that the world gives you. We are not guaranteed a good hand in life. We are not even guaranteed life. So what does this mean? It means that we have control over how we react and the decisions that we make. We do not have control over what happens to us. It is your decisions that you have the most control over to change your life. The decision on how you see the world. The decision on how you see your self. The decision on what time to wake up. The decision to go party or to work. I’m not saying any of these are good or bad but you will get different results based off your different decisions.

noiz viol8ion blog #326 – Not Deciding is Deciding

No one is going to tell you what you want. You have to figure this out yourself. You must decide on where you want to live, what kind of job you want, the people you develop relationships with, how to take care of your body.

If you do not decide this then you will not know how to make decisions. There must be a destination or else you will end up going down random paths. You may end up with a good happy life or you may not.

If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail!

Why do you want what you do?

Why are you going to a job everyday?

Why are some people happy and some sad?

Why are some people successful and some not?

If we start with why then we will know the what and how to do it. They why is the driving purpose behind what we do on a daily basis. With a small why we will not pulled as much as a huge exciting why.

    noiz viol8ion blog #295 – The 40/70 Rule

Never stop learning but do not let learning keep you from taking action. There is a thing as information overload and if you wait til you have all the information you think you need then you will never stop consuming information. You will never take action. At some point you are going to have to make a decision. That decision will be right or wrong and then you will have to correct course.

He says that every time you face a tough decision you should have no less than forty
percent and no more than seventy percent of the information you need to make the decision. If you make a decision with less than forty percent of the information you need you are shooting from the hip and you will make too many mistakes

Blog #182 – Connect with Empathy

Practicing empathy will make you a better person. As you practice empathy it will benefit you and help you develop a deeper connection with the other person or group.

    Definition of empathy

the action of understanding, being aware of, being sensitive to, and vicariously experiencing the feelings, thoughts, and experience of another of either the past or present without having the feelings, thoughts, and experience fully communicated in an objectively explicit manner

    Merriam Webster

Practicing empathy will give you a whole new perspective and understanding. You will be able to understand why people make the decisions they make. You will be able to understand how to help them where they are.

There is no judgement when practicing empathy. There is only understanding. Until you completely understand where a person is coming from and what they have been through then you will never be able to help someone. You will also never be able to help someone if you stay down at their level. You must meet them where they are and then lift them up.
