Blog #205 – Emphasize the contrast to influence people

This strategy is to be used for ethical purposes only.

When trying to influence people there are two things you must accentuate.

    1. The pain of their current situation. This extreme amount of pain will continue or get worse if they stay on their current trajectory.
    2. The pleasure of their dream situation. This is the immense amount of pleasure that will flood their body when they take the influenced action.

This is how sales people and marketing people take advantage of the unsuspecting consumer.

Blog #204 – The Struggle is Guaranteed

No matter what life is going to have ups and downs. There will be pains and pleasures.

All of the pain is a given.

The success and pleasures are up to you. These feelings are not given. You have to go out and take these. You have to make these happen. This is what it means to live a life with no regrets. Even if things do not work out you want to be able to say you gave it all you got. You went after your dreams. You didn’t make excuses.

You might as well fail doing something you love.

Blog #197 – These Two Things Always Pay-Off

    1. Dedication
    2. Hard-work

Sometimes if there is not an immediate result then people lose motivation and focus. We are easily bored and have a short attention span. Time is the most valuable asset everyone has so no one wants to waste their time. If you are trying to lose wait the people think the worst thing is to waste time on something that doesn’t work. They try everything and the pounds never come off. This is frustrating for anyone going through this struggle All they want is the feeling of being fit and sexy.

They want this feeling so bad they will look for solutions to get this result immediately. The pain of staying fat is a motivating thought. So motivating that it causes some people to try and cut corners or take a magic pill where there is no pain and only pleasure.

The pleasure is in the pain. You should not wait until you reach the destination to feel good. You should embrace the pain and do the hard-work. Pay the price and you will gain the reward.

Blog #190 – The Dichotomy of Working a Job you Hate

Avoid the dichotomy of doing what you hate so you can do what you love in your free time. This does not make any sense to stay in a job you do not like so you can have a weekend off or take 1 vacation a year. The only reason this makes sense is to sacrifice a few years if the money is fantastic. The problem is then people do not know how to get there money right and develop a plan to transition into another career. Their lifestyle increases to the amount of money they are making and they can’t change without it being extremely painful. This causes people to get stuck because they don’t know any better and they are not working on any other skills than the ones currently paying the bills. They are caught on the hamster wheel with no way off.

The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking.

  • Blog #177 – The two reason WHY you do ANYTHING.

Blog #177 – The two reason WHY you do ANYTHING.

Every decision you make is based off of these two rationals.

    1. To Avoid Pain
    2. To Gain Pleasure

    Simple.

Once you know this is how you operate then you can use it to your advantage or it’s going to use you.

If an overweight person doesn’t diet or exercise they associate massive amounts of pain to the decision to work out or diet. They will go through a litany of excuses about why they can’t or it doesn’t work for them. They will also associate massive amounts of pleasure to the unhealthy foods they eat and the lazy activities they perform.

On the flip side if a fit person doesn’t diet or exercise they associate massive amount of pain to the decision not to go work out or diet. They associate massive amounts of pleasure to working out and the feeling they will get from eating right.

To get over the hump on any decision you must enhance the amount of pain it’s going to cause and enhance the amount of pleasure you are going to gain.

  • Blog #158 – DESTROY Limiting Beliefs

All day we have a commentary running through our minds. When we do something bad that voice very loud. When we do something good the voice is either not there or is very quiet. Where did this voice come from? Why does it feel so real? Why does it break us down and not build us up?

This voice is your subconscious. This voice has been trained and conditioned since you were a little baby. This voice is a parrot to what is sees and hears on a daily basis. It is the voice to keep you safe. It is not the voice to make you happy.

Usually we are focused on two things.

    1. Trying to avoid pain.
    2. Trying to gain pleasure

Are you a pleasure seeker or a pain avoider?

Our desire to avoid pain is greater than our desire to gain pleasure.

The good thing is that these limiting beliefs that hold us back so we will avoid pain can be destroyed and replaced with positive empowering beliefs. There is a 3 to 1 rule and it takes 3 positives to destroy one negative. You must bring yourself to the positive belief and feel that pleasure 3 times more and place an anchor on that pleasure. Once the anchor is placed you can fire it off at any time.

  • Blog #151 – 3 Beliefs to Everlasting Change

Belief #1 – Things MUST Change

This is the feeling that ” I can’t take it anymore! I’ve had it! This is the last straw!” If you will no longer accept your current circumstances then you will do whatever it takes to change.

Belief #2 – For things to change I MUST change

This belief means that you take 100% responsibility for your current circumstances. When you take responsibility you are empowering yourself by saying that you got yourself here and now you can get yourself there.

Belief #3 – The Change will be immensely pleasurable in the end.

To have change you must gain leverage on yourself. This is done by feeling how terrible and painful your current situation. That if you stay in your current situation then this pain will multiply and you will never be happy. After you feel this pain imagine the feeling of pleasure rushing over you body if you change this situation to what you want. How much more pleasure will you and other feel if you make this change?

  • Blog #142 – How do you decide?

The power of decisions is not like any other that you posses.

In a single moment you have the power to change your life through a decision. A decision to keep doing something or to stop doing something will change the course of your life. If you are stuck in rut then you must make the decision to not accept the results you are getting.

    “I can’t take it anymore!”

This is the beginning of change. Sometimes it is forced upon people by being fired or maybe a family emergency but there is always a single moment where you life will change directions. This doesn’t mean your life is going to get easier. In face it may get harder because you may have to restart a career. You may have to go backwards to move forward but it will get better. It will get better because you are following your heart and making decisions on what you really want and no accepting what is convenient . You must raise your standards for yourself.

  • Blog #130 – The Lows Make The Highs

In life there will be plenty of low points but these are what make your high points so special. Feel the pain and let it sink in. Let the pain of the low points motivate you to work harder than you are now. The pain is temporary but the victories will last forever. Do not get trapped in you pain and think it will last forever. Nothing lasts forever.

You have to know there is a light at the end of the tunnel. You have to believe. The worst part is we often hold ourselves back because of some reason. We must take enormous action and have excited goals. Progress is progress and success is built on success. We must gain momuntum by doing the right things. Starting is the hardest part. The more you fall off track and restart the easier it will become.

  • Blog #80 – BAD is GOOD

Most of the time I like to avoid failure because it is painful. This avoidance to adversity traps me where I am at. I will refuse to take risks for the fear of the pain. I will refuse to start something new for the pain of being a beginner. Even though the experience of being a beginner is painful, it is also very humbling.

Being a beginner reminds me that there is still a lot to learn. It makes me question whether learning this new thing will be worth it. It makes me want to work harder and learn faster to avoid being in this beginning state.
