Blog #177 – The two reason WHY you do ANYTHING.

Every decision you make is based off of these two rationals.

  1. To Avoid Pain
  2. To Gain Pleasure

Simple.

Once you know this is how you operate then you can use it to your advantage or it’s going to use you.

If an overweight person doesn’t diet or exercise they associate massive amounts of pain to the decision to work out or diet. They will go through a litany of excuses about why they can’t or it doesn’t work for them. They will also associate massive amounts of pleasure to the unhealthy foods they eat and the lazy activities they perform.

On the flip side if a fit person doesn’t diet or exercise they associate massive amount of pain to the decision not to go work out or diet. They associate massive amounts of pleasure to working out and the feeling they will get from eating right.

To get over the hump on any decision you must enhance the amount of pain it’s going to cause and enhance the amount of pleasure you are going to gain.
