Understand what people are going through and what they need. Do this by listening to the person or group you want to serve. Listen to their wants and needs. Listen to their weakness and fears. Listen to their skills and talents. Listen to everything about them so you can fully understand where you might be of value. Do not assume what people want or need. Let them talk while you listen.

If you are not selfish you will get what is left over not what you deserve. First you need to know what you deserve. Know everything about your self, your actions, and your results. When you know the impact you have, you can be selfish to ask for what you deserve. This gives you the foundation for negotiations. There can be disagreements but unless you are fighting for yourself then you will be defeated.

Even before you were born there is a path already laid out for you. There are people like your parents pushing you in directions that you should go. These people may have different priorities in mind than you. Most likely their number one priority is your security. They want to keep you safe. Since these people have a huge influence on your life you listen to them and take their advice. You take their advice until you reach a point where you are at a place you don’t want to be. Here is where you have a choice on which road to take. Do you continue down the safe and secure path or do you take a chance on a path that will make you happy? If you begin to prioritize your happiness over security then your decision making process will change. Instead of thinking with your head you lead with your heart. Just know that whichever road you take you can be smart about the decisions you make.

There is my passion I pursue everyday and there is my work I get paid for. It is my goal to combine my passion and work. I can do this by adding more passion to my work or by adding more work to my passion. Anyone can do the former but the later is much more challenging. The first is a change in your attitude. This can be done by finding things you enjoy about your current work. What can you accentuate, get better at, and enjoy? Where can you place your focus to find more joy?
When adding more work to your passion you are adding things that you don’t like. This means learning more skills that are not your passion. Skills like making money, marketing, management, accounting, and other business skills. The better you are at business the more you can turn your passion into work.
Either way you have to know your worth, know where you want to be, learn and grow.

The chicken crossed the road because the chicken thought the other side of the road is better. The same is for people. People take action because they think that things will be better if they do. Very few people do things because they want to make things worse. Whether conscious or not the natural state is to make things better so people will take action to make things better. The more you do something the better you are going to be at doing it. The pathways in your brain will reinforce this method. The ideal can be up to you and you will always move towards this ideal. Make a conscious ideal and you will go places you want to go and do things you want to do.

If you want to do anything just show up. Showing up is the first step to building momentum. Show up to the gym. You may not feel like going but just show up. Once your there you will work up. Show up to your job. You may not feel like working but once your there you will work. Show up to the family function. You may not feel like going but once your there you will have fun. Show up to your creative space. You may not feel creative but once your there you will create. Showing up is the minimum amount of effort you need to put in to make progress and build momentum.
