A flood starts with a few drops of rain.

A marathon begins with a single step.

A house starts with a solid foundation and is built brick by brick.

Anything worth doing takes time. Progress is made slowly over time. Take the time to do it right and you can build something that will last forever.

noiz viol8ion blog #610 – Do Not Compromise

When things get hard the brain starts to come up with compromises to make things easier. If you stick to your guns and follow through then you will get more out of it than cutting corners or making compromises.

Do not follow someone you know is wrong. Do the work yourself to figure out what is right and what is wrong. Then always do what is right.

You are where you are because of the decisions you have made. Keep raising the standard of your decisions and what is acceptable. You have to look out for yourself first because if you don’t then no one will.

Do you set a high bar or keep it low?

It’s easy to lower the bar once you have failed multiple times. Once you lower the bar once you lower it again and then you begin accepting things below your standards. Your life is deteriorating and you don’t know why. You are scared to take risks and go into conservation mode. You know your not happy but don’t know what to do. You dug yourself into a whole and don’t know how to get out.

It is up to you to change your lifestyle. Change your goals. Change your actions. Raise your standards. There is nothing in your way besides yourself.

    noiz viol8ion blog #406 – Raise Up

There is no happiness in stagnation.

I often hear, “Be happy with what you got! There are a lot of people who have it worse than you.” While this is true, this is not the best way to make your self happy.

The only person you should compare yourself to is yourself. Comparing yourself to other people always leads to unhappiness because as soon as you compare to the people with less than you you jump to people with more than you and become unhappy again. Or even worse you surround yourself with people worse than you to make yourself feel better. Instead look at yourself and do everything you can to be better than you were yesterday. Slowly make progress in the direction you want to go.

God helps those who helps themselves so raise up and help yourself.

    noiz viol8ion blog #405 – What’s Acceptable?

Look around in your life and wonder why you have the things in your life that you do. Why are you in the house you live in? Why are you in a relationship with the person you are? Why are you doing the job you are? Why are you getting paid what you are?

These things are in your life because you get what you accept. Whether consciously or unconsciously you have accepted everything you got. If you are not happy with what you got then you only have yourself to blame. You get what you deserve.

Determine your standards for what is acceptable.

I am harder on myself than anyone else. This lets me handle criticism well but is not good for self acceptance.

Sometimes the standards we set for ourselves our unachievable. We can have huge enormous goals but we also have to have micro goals. These micro goals give pleasure and momentum through small wins. Eventual enough small wins add up to big results.
